5 QUICK Tips for staying on track with your nutritional goals!
Create realistic goals for yourself based on professional health/wellness advice from your medical doctor and/or nutritionist. Comparing yourself with others then trying their approach, may work for some but for the most part it doesn't have consistent results. Make sure your healthy lifestyle is tailored to meet your health and wellness needs then use that as a starting point to your next step.
Meal planning, creating a menu. I think for a lot of us we fall short when we have to think “last minute!” and it usually ends up not being part of our original plan (wink wink). Most recently I bought these awesome meal planning trays that help me with (the 3 P's) preserving my meals, portion controlling and pre-planning my dishes.
Just because it’s healthy doesn’t mean it can’t be delicious! Discuss with your nutritionist on how you should spruce up your food. I tend to use low sodium products or no sodium at all. But, it’s all about what works for you based on the medical/healthcare needs.
4. Be specific about your goals. Society has taught us to think big! Yet I feel when making goals it is best to take a “step by step approach” allow one step to gradually progress you.
5. Don’t make food the main focus, combine your life with interests and passions. I find the busier we are, the less we tend to obsess or overeat. Helpful distractions, especially meeting all of your wellness needs allows you to refocus attention and energy than food just becomes the complement not always the "main course"....enjoy andBon Appétit!
