Hello & Welcome
It was somewhere in my early twenties, when I first discovered my curiosity for Fitness. Although, I hadn't become quite centered around a healthier living, until I reached my mid-twenties and relocated to a much warmer climate thus feeling inspired by the weather, the captivating beach lifestyle, the need to challenge myself and, eventually, becoming more of a health conscious individual. At the time, the Pilates craze was still underway, and I became enamored with its emphasis on core strengthening and the challenge it posed. In an attempt to get started, I soon purchased a large sized stability ball, and from there I continued on my path of self-improvement.
After a few months and observing subtle changes, the need to continuously educate myself on leading a healthier lifestyle became continuous. The importance of nutrition and the connection between consistency and results, had brought forth a deeper level of understanding for the vast spectrum that is wellness. Along the way, I noticed that I was not only building physical strength, but also self-esteem and a base knowledge of exercise. The once known challenges became defeated, even on a comparatively smaller scale. But, most of all, I was increasing my self-esteem, by allowing myself to confidently appreciate what made me unique by meeting and exceeding personal expectation.
Once, I entered my 30’s the spark that led me into fitness now became a flame. I had committed to doing both Zumba and Yoga. The fitness classes were a wonderful escape from the world; although, all of us were from different backgrounds, we had been united by a common interest and goal. It was this same feeling that soon inspired my passion to become a Certified Primary Group Exercise Instructor, in which I pursued this goal in the area of Senior Fitness. I simply wanted to encourage people to lead their best life and enjoy an escape from their daily routine; ultimately giving others, what had been given to me. In recent years, I have continued to challenge myself, especially at the beginning of the Pandemic, when I became deeply, committed to running and completing my first race and later winning my running medal around summertime just a couple of months away from turning 40 years old. I am currently preparing to become a Certified Personal Trainer and gearing up for group fitness classes. My hope is that anyone reading this blog entry will be motivated by not only the physical results of fitness, but also the desire to truly build from within.
In recent years with the increase of social media and self-admiration at an all time high, it’s easy to recognize the correlation between fitness and physical appearance. However, I’d like for readers to also understand that a commitment to fitness is ultimately the development that begins on the inside and the dedication to self that builds character, for me it was about personal evolution and I am sure plenty of other fitness professionals and enthusiasts share this sentiment. Ultimately, it can be a lifelong passion, a motivator - a true journey of self- discovery, aligned with gems along the pathway, be sure to enjoy each one…
Thank you so much for taking part in my journey….
